Cookies & Storage

Last updated: 22 July 2026

EthioBete sets no cookies. Not for advertising, not for tracking, not at all. If you are browsing without an account, nothing is stored on your device.

What we store, and when

Instead of cookies we use your browser's local storage, and only for things the site cannot work without. All of it is first-party — it is readable only by ethiobete.com and is never sent to an advertiser.

None of these identify you to anyone else, and none are used to build a profile of you. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings — you will simply be signed out and your preferences reset.

Analytics — the part you control

If you choose Accept all, we load Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. These count page views and measure how quickly pages load. They are cookieless and do not follow you to other websites.

If you choose Essential only, those scripts are never loaded at all — not loaded and ignored, but genuinely never requested.

Other services your browser contacts

Using the site means your browser talks directly to a few other services:

  • Supabase — our database and login system. Necessary for the site to function.
  • OpenStreetMap — supplies map images. Loading a map means OpenStreetMap can see your IP address.
  • Stripe — only when you pay. Payment happens on Stripe's own page, under Stripe's privacy policy.
